Features
Everything it does, today.
This page lists what is in CaseSage now, not a roadmap. All of it runs on your own server.
Find and understand
Every document, readable and searchable.
CaseSage reads what your firm already has, in the formats it actually comes in.
Search across every case
Search by exact words, phrases or plain English, in one case or all of them. Results rank by meaning as well as by keyword, and open in a preview with the hit highlighted.
Ask, with citations
Ask a question about a case and get an answer that links to the exact pages. "Research this across the case" reads every document and writes a fuller report in minutes.
Chat and deep research
Talk to the whole firm's files, one case, or one document. Longer questions run in the background and come back as a cited report you can download.
Audio, video and phone photos
Recordings are transcribed with timecodes, so a click plays the exact moment. Photos straight from a phone open like any other document.
Email, mailboxes and archives
Emails stay grouped with their attachments, Outlook mailboxes are opened up, and zip files and disc images are unpacked so everything inside is searchable.
Duplicates out of the way
Exact copies are recognised and tucked away, so each document shows once in your results.
Built for personal injury
Medical records and handwriting, handled properly.
The parts of a PI file that other tools struggle with are where CaseSage does its most careful work.
Records in a file
A scanned stack of medical records is split into one document per record, each with its own summary, key facts and place on the timeline. You can correct where records start and end.
Medical imaging
X-ray, CT and MRI studies are searchable by patient, date, body part, ordering physician and facility, and open in the browser with brightness, contrast and frame controls.
Figures to check
Handwritten pages are read twice by different engines. Wherever they disagree on an amount, a date or a claim number, the figure is listed for a person to confirm, so $12,500 is never quietly read as $13,500.
Close reading of hard pages
Poor scans and handwriting get a second, closer read by a vision model running on your own hardware, and you can step through the uncertain spots with the place lit up on the page.
Build the case
The work product, drafted from the file.
Everything is cited back to the page it came from, for your team to check and use.
Timeline, key facts and case brief
A dated chronology, a cast of characters and a case brief, drafted from the documents. The timeline exports to a spreadsheet.
Witness kits
Deposition prep for one person: every document that mentions them, a timeline filtered to them, and the moments they come up in recordings. Curate it and export a dated PDF bundle.
Exhibits
Number exhibits for either side, link each to a witness and its Bates range, then export a court-ready exhibit list and stamped exhibit copies.
Case checklists and My day
Steps for each stage of a case type appear when a case reaches that stage, and land on the right person's My day alongside their review work and to-dos.
Review and produce
Discovery, without a separate e-discovery bill.
Review, redaction and production live in the same place as the rest of the file.
Relevance and privilege review
Describe what matters in plain words. The AI suggests a label with its reasoning and confidence, and a person makes every decision. Batches are assigned to reviewers.
Redaction
Draw redactions or accept suggestions for personal information, and export a flattened copy. The original is never changed, and productions always use the redacted copy.
Productions with Bates numbering
Build Bates-numbered sets. Anything marked privileged or not yet decided is held back automatically and logged. Output is stamped PDFs plus a load file.
Check what the other side sent
Incoming productions are read automatically, and their load file opens as a spreadsheet linked to the documents, so you can see whether the whole production arrived.
Production index
One Bates index of everything produced and received, exported as a binder-ready PDF or a spreadsheet.
Defensibility report
A dated record of the searches, review, productions and OCR behind a case, ready for the day your discovery is challenged.
Add-ons
Pay only for what your firm uses.
The core platform is complete on its own. These are separate add-ons.
Mailroom Add-on
Watches your fax, scanner and email-drop folders. Keeps an untouched archive of everything received, makes it searchable, matches it to the right case, and puts the unsure items in front of a person with the reason.
Hot folders Add-on
Drop a scan or a photo in one folder and get a searchable PDF in another, with the original pages kept. Hard pages get the same vision-model reading as the rest of CaseSage. A simple way to make every scanner in the office produce searchable files.
Case-management connector Add-on
Brings in cases, parties and staff from your case-management system, starting with Needles, so documents line up with the matters your team already works in.
Everyday
Where your team already works.
CaseSage fits around the way a firm already runs.
Right in File Explorer
A Windows add-in shows each file's AI summary, key facts, review status, Bates numbers and transcript in File Explorer's preview pane on your case share, with Open in CaseSage on the right-click menu.
Reports for partners
A value report estimates time saved and shows review progress, with exports for the partners' meeting.
Help built in
The help for each screen is one click away and matches the version you have installed. You can also just ask Chat how to do something.
For your IT person
Run it like the rest of your infrastructure.
Designed to be installed, secured and kept up to date by a small firm's own IT, with no call to us.
Your sign-in
Sign in with your Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or Windows single sign-on. Admin rights can follow directory groups, and every sign-in is recorded.
Case-level access
People see only the cases they have been given access to.
Updates with a safety net
One-button updates take a restore point first, check the system afterwards, and roll back on their own if something is wrong. Updates can also be applied offline from a file.
Encrypted backups
Scheduled, encrypted backups of CaseSage's own database, with a verify step and a restore you can rehearse.
Grows with the archive
Add machines for reading and AI from the admin screen. A built-in survey and capacity planner size the hardware from what is actually on your share.
Health in one place
One page shows the state of every machine, queue and backup, with email alerts that never include document content.
See it on your own files.
